Is this type of candles safe for wax play?
These are Ikea unscented tealight candles, are they safe for wax play? I am a beginner and would like to try wax play. I have a box of these at home and was thinking if they are suitable for wax play. If they are safe for wax play, then I will try it using them.

Official commentHi, Harrykim858,Thanks for posting your question to our community section! Wax play can be an extremely fun and sensual experience, but it's important that it's done right. The most important thing to pay attention to when selecting a candle for wax play is the material of the candle. Typically, soy or paraffincandles are used because they have a lower melting temperature and are safer for the skin. Unless explicitly specified, tea lights can be a blend of unknown materials and are generally not recommended for BDSM use. Using the wrong type of candle can cause damage to the skin. It's always better to use a candle that is specifically designed for wax play, which you can find at most sex shops. Feel free to check out these products from the KinkStore:No matter which candle you use, you should test it out on a small patch of skin before busting it out in the bedroom. Each person's skin sensitivity is different, so it's important to ensure the sensation is enjoyable and not too painful. Make sure to check the patch of skin afterwards, as any lasting burn marks likely signify that the wax was too hot and should not be used on the body. Additionally, keep in mind different parts of the body have different levels of sensitivity. You will want to thoroughly research how to use a candle for wax play. Here is an article I found that may be helpful:As for any BDSM experience, make sure to respect your partner's limits and encourage them to speak up if something doesn't feel right. Find the balance of pain and pleasure, and a whole world of sexiness opens up!Please feel free to write back with any further questions.Best Regards,Kink Staff
